Library

The Miriam B and James J. Mulva Library is one of the newest buildings on campus. The 20 million dollar construction of Mulva was finished and opened its doors July of 2009. The Mulva Library is approximately 60,000 square feet that houses a presentation room, cafe with study area, computers, books, Center for Norbertine Studies, The Writing Center, private group study rooms, reflection lounge, children’s library and classrooms. The best features of the Mulva Library are that it is both technologically advanced and environmentally friendly. The new library has come a long way compared to how St. Norbert’s first library was formed. In 1903, the first library was a small room in Main Hall that contained donated books from previous students. The library was moved to Boyle Hall in 1924 until 1977 where it moved once more when the Todd Wehr Library was established through a remodeling project of existing dormitories. Today, the Mulva library serves as the academic hub of campus with plenty of space for the 3,000 additions of various books, journals, microforms and charts that are added each year.
